Empty Makeup palette: Unii Palette Review

My long awaited unii palette finally arrived in the mail today. You have no idea how excited I am! I have heard alot of great reviews about the Unii Palette and I couldn't wait for mine to arrive to put this baby to the test. It came in a really sleek, well designed, white outer packaging. It looked really professional!. When you turn the packaging over to the back it reminds me of opening an envelope. The really cool part is when you open the packaging it gives alot of instructions on how to depot your eyeshadows and put them into the unii palette.

Honestly, the unii palette speaks for itself. I will admit that when i first got it i was very confused on the how the heck I am suppose to use it. My only complaint about the unii palette is that it's a bit too small. It needs to be way bigger! I would defiantly buy more of her empty makeup palettes, but that won't be anytime soon until a bigger one is made. How my personal life is organized it would be very inconvenient for me to have two small unii palettes and keep interchanging my eyeshadows. I prefer a bigger one where I could fit my small makeup stash into one palette and pick it up and go. I am more likely to use my makeup if I have direct access to it.

Would I recommend this product to a friend? Yes, I would! Because of the unii palette I was able to free up alot of space in my makeup collection and have most of my eyeshadows stored in one place for easy access.

Here is the back of the unii palette package.

These two photos is what's on the inside of the packaging. As you can see ALOT of love went into this. The cool part is that the unii palette comes with 3 magnetic strips to attach non magnetic eyeshadows pans.

I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling that I may still be using mine wrong. I think I butchered the magnets.

Victoria Secret Haul!!!!

Hey everyone!
It's me again, anonymous cutie, bringing you reviews on affordable cosmetics and my shopping experiences. Today's blog was totally unplanned as I went Victoria's Secret looking for one thing and came back out with something completely different. LOL. Don't you just hate when that happens? I am on a budget and I spent a ton of cash for some products I didn't need, but wanted. LOL I can't wait to get my next paycheck soon. So toady I bought a few of VS beauty rush items such as: the beauty rush "Berry Cosmo" and 6 lip glosses in sugar high, mocktail hour, bananas(which they changed and reminds me of twisted citrus), red delicious, passion fruit pop, and the limited edition denimberry(which is soo cute).
These victoria secret lip glosses are so neat and irresistible. They smell and taste as good as they look. It almost makes me want to eat them up. LOL. One thing I will say about VS lip glosses is that it does a great job of keeping my lips moisturized and adding a beautiful sheen to it. In my opinion, its like my lips soak up the sticky moisture very slowly and keeps it hydrated all day long. For some reason sticky gloss works really well on my lips. The more creamy a gloss the more likely it is for my lips to absorb the moisture quickly. So the gloss has to be thick. Would I recommend these glosses to a friend? You bet'cha I will.

L-R (Bananas, denimberry, sugar high, mocktail hour, red delicious, and pasion fruit pop)

Now for the Beauty Rush "Berry Cosmo" collection. This thing smells amazing! I works really well with my body chemistry cause I put this one like 4 hours ago and its still smelling good on my hand. Trust me VS body products usually don't last very long on my skin so i have to keep layering it on. This smells very fruity, but at the same time subtle enough to not interfere with my breathing. I have tried beauty rush products in the past and was a bit 50/50 with their products cause sometimes the scent you buy the lotion may be to sticky, not strong smelling enough or does not moisturize my skin. But I think this time they got the formula right. Would I recommend this product? Yeah why not I think every girl should give it a try.

Maybelline "Smokey Surprise" trio!!! Review and Swatches

Hey everyone
I have been a little under the whether lately cause the humidity makes me feel like I am suffocating. So as a result today is going to be a bit of a short blog. But besides all that today I am really excited for two reasons: 1) I purchased the new unii palette and can't wait for it to arrive to test it out by depotting my eyeshadows. 2)I did a little bit of shopping at CVS and found this really cool smokey eye trio from maybelline called Smokey surprise. Ok, now that thats out of the way, Let's get back into the maybelline trio, which truly was a surprise because this look is so very easy and simple to do(I can't do a smokey eye look to save my life). Oddly enough, I never even heard of Maybelline having a smokey eye trio, although i do know about their quads and I never seen it on the Maybelline website. The colors in this trio are really pigmented and I think will go well with any skin tone. Maybelline is on a roll! Would I recommend this product to a friend? Yep, it has my stamp of approval.

Here are the swatches. I love the middle color! It reminds me of a grayish brown.

Arissa lip palette in Kaleidoscope!!!

The is the keleidoscope palette.

Hey guys, I hope you are starting off with a wonderful summer!

Today's blog is going to be on Arissa lip palette in "Kaleidoscope". A few months ago I was looking for a really good lip palette that is highly pigmented, inexpensive and has some really good color combos until I found Arissa's lip palette on (cherryculture.com).

What it comes with:

  • A lip applicator
  • a small built in mirror
  • 6 lip gloss shades

Review:
This palette I mainly wear during the winter and fall months because its a very warm palette and I find it to be perfect for that time of the year(That's just my personal opinion).I am really impressed with their lip palette. It is so HIGHLY PIGMENTED that you have to be careful with how much you layer on, cause the color can get really deep and very bold. The case is so compact, has a nice texture, its small, and very trendy. The black casing does not pick up fingerprints very easily and can be easily cleaned. As for the gloss texture it reminds me of lipstick(but its less heavy in feeling). Also the brush it comes with is very neat and cool and perfect for travel and work environments, but I tend to lose it very easily and doesn't work well on my fuller lips. LOL

Pros:
  • Highly Pigmented lip shades
  • Sleek Case, great texture
  • Travel friendly
  • The shades are very long lasting
  • The gloss applies very smooth and creamy feel
  • It's not drying on the lips

Cons:

  • The lip brush doesn't apply well on my fuller lips
  • The mirror is practically useless cause its so small
  • Some of the colors seem a little dull (maybe its the palette I have).

Some of the shades have some shimmer to it and the other is a bit matte in my opinion. They also look really great with a nice shiny/ clear lip gloss color worn over them.

The swatches are in the same order as the palette. My favorite color is the purple shade that is second to last. (L-R)

Note: After I took these photos and tried to take these swatches off of my skin, it really lasted and was hard to come off with regular soap and water. I had to use a small towel with soap and water. So that's proof how long it takes to come off.

All in all would I recommend this palette? YES! I think Arissa's lip palette speaks for itself. This palette is amazing and not alot of people know about it as it was difficult to even find swatches of the other lip palettes. The swatches they have of their website isn't very helpful to find the right shades.

Maybelline Pearl eyeshadow duo

Hey everyone!
Right now my room feels like an inferno and the fan is on and my windows are open. It is such a hot day outside in NYC so I am going to have to make this post a little brief. Let's get started shall we?

Review:
Today I am going to be doing a review of Maybelline's new pearl eyeshadow duo. The one I bought is called "Sinful Cinnamon". Doesn't the name sound interesting? lol. (Besides it was the last shade left). The cool part about this eyeshadow duo is the fact it can be applied wet or dry, but to me you get the best usage out of it when its applied wet. Now I tried it out a few times. The first time I used it I didn't like it. But after i kept using it, it started to find its place in my heart, as well as starting to irritate my eyes. It got so bad my eyes started looking red and my lids were so itchy. Just to let you know, I have used pearl eyeshadows like this before and I never had a problem. Here are the pros and cons.

Pros:

  • It's highly pigmented
  • Does add alot of shimmer
  • Ok packaging
  • Can swirl the colors together
  • Can be used wet or dry. Best if used wet
  • Long lasting
  • Option of making a dramatic or sheer look
Cons:
  • Alot of fallout
  • It irritated my eyelids
  • The lighter color/ pearl side is very flaky
  • The pearl side cannot be easily applied with a brush
  • Creases easily.
Would I recommend this product to a friend? Maybe. This product wasn't for me. The colors are really beautiful online and in the store, but I think its the eyeshadow fallout and the fact it irritated my eyes was what ruined it for me. Honestly, I think I am allergic to the pearl eyeshadows from the Maybelline line and wouldn't try it again. However, I say still give it a try and see if it works for you. Remember what may not work for me may work for you and vice-versa.

Maybelline's Color Sensational Lip gloss Review & Swatches

(L-R) Broadway Bronze and Cocktail.
I got a lot of compliments on my lips when I wear the cocktail color with a silver smokey eye look. It's also weird that cocktail is larger than the Broadway bronze tube and they are next to each other on an even level.

This is what it looks like opened.

Here is the applicator

Hey guys,
Today is such a bummer! I am have been in tons of pain and Dr. Butcher(lol) will not see me again after this. Anyhow enough about that...just thinking of my situation is causing me agonizing pain. I am going to review Maybelline's Color Sensational lip gloss in Cocktail( my favorite color) & Broadway Bronze. Now I will admit I am not a huge fan of wand type lip glosses I usually opt more for tube lip glosses and lip palettes(it's just personal preference). I wanted to do a blog on these glosses because I feel like not enough people know about these glosses and if they do they are sleeping on it. Anyhow I was extremely attracted to the colors they had on display at my local drugstore and I was also pleased with the price for a product that was just released at the time. So i bought two of them. The color in these glosses are very highly pigmented and the formula is so smooth and non clumpy. The lasting power of these glosses are awesome!!! You can drink and eat and the color will still be there(but not as pigmented as when u first applied it of course). Now in terms of moisture I can only speak for myself, because i have very dry chapped lips and so i have to go the extra measure to keep them smooth and chapped free. The gloss was a bit drying on my lips after a few hours so much so that their gloss reminds me of lipstick because of the way it dries on my lips after applying it. Would I recommend this lip gloss to a friend? You betcha i will.

The Best part of these glosses are the fact I think they are very complexion friendly. They can fit every skin tone beautifully and the colors are very natural looking when you apply them to your own lips.

Top= Broadway Bronze
Bottom= Cocktail

Hard Candy Haul

I am very super excited about this haul today in particular because its about Hard Candy Cosmetics. As many of you may know( or some that are new to this line) Hard candy cosmetics use to work with Urban Decay they closed their cosmetics line and launched it exclusively to be sold ONLY by walmart for walmart. So if u don't have a walmart near you, you can get it off the walmart website, but good luck cause they are always sold out on walmart.com. Now that i got that out of the way. I recently purchased Hard Candy's kaleydescope eyeshadow in "peace" and hard candy's plexi lip gloss in "Clear"(cause i wasn't sure if i was going to like their brand or not). So far i am really pleased with this product. There baked eyeshadows are A-maz-ing!. They have very little to any fallout, they can be applied wet or dry and they are highly pigmented. They don't crease without a primer on your lids so can just apply them and skip out of your door. Plus, because i have very sensitive skin, they don't irritate my eyes like Maybellines pearl eyeshadows. But wait there's more... for u animal lovers out there they DO NOT test in animals. YAY! Now that is how baked eyeshadow are suppose to be. The packaging is really cool and trendy with their little artwork on the front of the cover. Also when i first bought the product I thought the lighter side would be a champagne color, but on my skin it comes off almost white, but its hard to explain. The darker color is very true in the duo as it is on the skin. So there is no need to worry about the darker side of the duo. All in all i am really loving this thing. Would I recommend this product? You sure right i will. I think every girl should own one of these in their makeup bag. I would really love to try out the "Rush hour" kaleydescope duo next.

Here are the swatches!!

Now for the Hard Candy plexi gloss in clear. So far so good. I have used these a few times this month and i am a bit pleased. On the website it seemed like it had glitter/sparkle in it, but they really don't. It's very clear. Now i have very dry lips and when it dries out on my lips its leaves some subtle chapping. Plus its not very long lasting on my lips. It's like my lips soak up the moisture. The applicator on the gloss is also very convient as well as applies evenly.

Here's a swatch of the gloss!

Enjoy!!

NYX eyeshadow Base Review

Hey everyone,
It's me again. Today i am a bit under the weather after coming from the dentist office from having sugary on my wisdom teeth (what a bummer). So forgive me if my writing seems a bit slurred. So anyway down to business I recently purchased the somewhat new NYX eyeshadow base in "skin tone" which is also available in "pearl" and "white" . Apparently from the description for the skintone shade it is suppose to "hold intensify and make your eyeshadow last longer". Now from my understanding when it comes to applying this eyeshadow base it is VERY tricky. If u apply to much it will cause your makeup to crease and will not hide very well under your eyeshadow so i recommend everyone to apply this with a concealer or foundation brush or something. In my case i have to use a brush because if u have long fingernails good luck on dipping your finger into the jar. LOL. Also the real bummer to me is that it doesn't dry as clear as I had hoped. Depending on the amount you use it may and it may not. As the saying goes "a little bit goes a long way". So u have to test it out and figure out what the right amount of this base is for you. In a side note this product reminds me of the NYX jumbo pencils, in which most of the girls use as a base under their eyeshadow. In one youtube video a girl depotted hers and compressed it into a jar.

This eyeshadow base isn't the best, but you do get what u pay for. I just wish the packaging was a bit better(i am a bit vain at times). I'm not feeling it. The consistency can be a bit stiff or dry on skin chalky at times, but it is still pretty good. Now would i recommend this to a friend? Maybe. Here's why, i have noticed that when i use this eyeshadow base on NYX eyeshadow products it pops up a bit better, but when i use this product on non-NYX products like Maybelline or MAC it doesn't really do it justice. Or sometimes it may make higher end makeup pop up better than the urban decay potion primer. It all depends on a lot of factors like the shade of eyeshadow you use maybe. This part i leave to the readers to decide. This is just my opinion on what i have noticed on my skin. so there you go that's how i feel about NYX eyeshadow base.

Here is what it looks like on actual skin just applied, not rubbed in.

NYX Trio: Copper/Rust/Bronze

Sorry about the glare the case gets greasy and the flash wasn't helping.

(L-R) Copper, Rust and Bronze
To be honest I don't agree with how NYX labeled the colors I feel like the first color should have been called "Rust" and the second color "copper" cause the singles are labeled the same way it should be.

(L-R) Copper, Rust, Bronze

What it comes with:
  • An dual ended applicator
  • 3 eyeshadow color (copper/rust/bronze)
  • A small mirror

REVIEW:

Hey everyone!
I am going to be doing a tiny NYX review I got from cherryculture.com. (and I mean tiny) I will be reviewing the following trio: copper/rust/bronze. Now I will admit the copper/rust/bronze trio is the hardest trio to figure out how to wear, but I bought it cause the colors are just so beautiful! They are highly pigmented and are so soft and smooth. The first color is copper and it reminds me of a spicy pink( i know that's not a color LOL I love to make up words) color. The "rust" color reminds me of a goldish color with hints of orange in it and the bronze is very difficult to explain, its just... bronze with hints of orange. I thought the bronze color in this trio would be a perfect dupe for Mac's "Bronze" single, but its not. : (

Here is the MAC "Bronze" single

Here are the swatches of the MAC Bronze single and the NYX "Bronze"color from the trio. They are way different than i expected.

(L-R) NYX Bronze swatch( which is more orange like) and Right, is the MAC Bronze swatch (which is more brown with gold undertones almost.

Pros:

  • The colors are soft, not chalky
  • Highly Pigmented
  • Blends well
  • Last all day

Cons:

  • The packaging is cheap
  • The second and last color are similar in color. The NYX "Bronze" color is more of a darker color of the middle one.

Would I recommend this to a friend? YES! This trio is very beautiful and very unique in the NYX collection. Each color can be worn alone (which is what I do) or together, but I am still not sure how to wear them all together.

Urban Decay Sustainable box palette!!!

Hey all you beauty junkies out there!,
I am so excited about creating my first makeup post. Yippee! Let me first say this that it may be a bit crappy now, but I promise to improve it as time goes on. I am still getting use to this whole blogging stuff. So now that's outta the way down to business.

REVIEW:
I recently bought this
Urban Decay Sustainable Box Palette during a 15% off discount deal Sephora had going on around last year Christmas. It came with a little mini primer potion that has alot of product if u take of that rubber rim. So far i am really impressed with this palette! It is a great introduction for those who never used Urban decay cosmetics before(like me...I know, I know I am a little behind). Some of their colors are highly pigmented and some of them just have a bit more glitter than color. I also think this palette can be used all year round as glitter looks great for the summer as well as holiday seasons. My only complaints about this box is that it has way to much glitter in some of the colors. For example, "Uzi" and "kiddie pool". Some of the glitter tends to fall into your eyes if u don't apply it carefully( like I did) which will cause you rub your eyes all day. The 2nd thing that disturbs me most is the way the box opens up with a useless mirror on the side. The mirror is really small the rotating cover can get in the way with the bamboo casing. Also there is somewhat a useless brush( which makes a eyeliner brush).

What it comes with:

  • a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • A small, travel friendly, eyeshadow brush
  • Side mirror (inconvenient)
  • 10 eyeshadow shadow shades From Left to Right 1st Row:YDK, Flipside, Griffter, Uzi, Twice Baked, 2nd Row:Midnight Cowboy Rides again, Flash, Oil Slick, Kiddie Pool, and Half Baked)

Pros:

  • Highly Pigmented
  • Shades are eye POPPING
  • Last all day( with primer)
  • Blends Well
  • Outer case is made from Bamboo

Cons:

  • Some of the colors have way to much glitter (Uzi and midnight Cowboy rides again)
  • The brush is very inconvenient, so is the mirror
  • I hate the way the cover opens
  • The brush barely pick up color as well as pack it on well.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, this palette is truly amazing and works well with my brown eyes. You can do a ton of eyeshadow looks with this palette. However, if you are not into glitter or a much older woman I don't think this palette would be right for you. For older women that have a few lines around the eyes the glitter fallout can actually make your eyes look older.

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for my next blog...
