My Review of Dual Mirror Compact

Originally submitted at EyesLipsFace.com

The essential dual mirror compact with a chic velvet travel pouch. Great for quick on-the-go touchups. One side of the compact reveals a regular mirror while the other side has a 2X magnification mirror for easy viewing.

I love this mirror!

Pros: Durable, Compact, Effective, Easy To Use

Cons: Very Small

Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel

Describe Yourself: Budget Buyer

Was this a gift?: No

I have no qualms with this mirror! It is very stylish, has a nice textured casing, great size, clear mirrors and two mirrors with two different magnifications. I use this mirror and the 2x magnification side to apply eyeliner to my waterline and the magnification helps me to apply it precisely and get very detailed with my makeup. This mirror is also great for on the go travel and has a really good casing.

My Review of Cream Eyeliner

One word "disappointed"....

Pros: Glides On Smoothly, Cream eyeshadow texture, Easy To Apply, Doesn't Run

Cons: Not for oily lids, Very opaque, Bad Color, Not Pigmented Enough, Stains lids, Difficult To Apply

Best Uses: As an eyeshadow base, As a cream eyeshadow

Describe Yourself: Trendy Style

I am very disappointed with this eyeliner. I got "purple punk" and the color is beautiful, has a great texture, and the brush it comes with is excellent and soft, but its the product itself that doesn't work well. It applies more opaque than pigmented. Had there been more pigmentation this would be perfect, but its not. This eyeliner has a very creamy texture that would probably work better as a cream eyeshadow than than a gel eyeliner. I had to swipe this on numerous times in order to get some type of color pigmentation to show up. Plus I have a dark brown skin tone and this does not show up well like other gel eyeliners I have used. Lastly, this purple eyeliner stains when its time to take it off.

My Review of Small Smudge Brush

Originally submitted at EyesLipsFace.com

This new anti bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this e.l.f. studio brush!
-Creates detailed pin-pointed color application
-Great for blending in...

This brush is a MUST have!

Pros: Easy To Use, Great Design, Compact, Functional, Soft Bristles, Multifunctional

Best Uses: Detailing, Everyday

Describe Yourself: Trendy Style

This is a wonderful Brush! I don't even use this brush as a smudge brush. It works MUCH better as a detailing brush esp on the lower lash line and outer corner. The brush picks up color evenly, it applies it evenly and precisely where you want it to go.

My Review of Smudge Brush

Originally submitted at EyesLipsFace.com

This short curved brush is the perfect shape to expertly smooth in color along the lash line for a smoky look. The dense brushes apply exact color application for extreme intensity to blend colors or smudge lines. Perfect for contouring and enhancing definition around the eye.

Works better as an eyeshadow brush.

I use this eyeshadow brush for my somewhat small almond shaped lids. This brush picks up color well and applies it great, pigmented, and evenly on the lids. I think this is better as an eyeshadow brush than a smudge bush.

BH Cosmetics: 88 Cool shimmer palette

The front of the case. As you can see it picks up ALOT of smudge marks and fingerprints.

The back of the case which includes the ingredients and the expiration date.

Welcome back my beauty junkies,
As promised I have some more cosmetics that I want to review for all of you. I wanted to make sure I try my products for a week in order to give the most accurate review. So first up on the list is the BH Cosmetics: 88 Cool shimmer palette. Before I get into my review some of you may know about BH cosmetics, some of you may not. BH cosmetics is a legit company like coastal scents that also sells makeup palettes for an amazing discount price. They have a ton of palettes to choose from. Like Matte, shimmer, neutral eyeshadow palettes or even a combo of both. They also have lip palettes too. So on to the review....

Sorry about the glare... the plastic was on

I do plan on doing some swatches for this palette, however it will take a very long time as its ALOT of colors to swatch. So if anything I should be doing an update.

Review:
Tired of wearing the same eyeshadow shades over and over again? Looking to expand your makeup horizon? Well, Ladies and Gentlemen (I don't discriminate) you need to look into BH cosmetic eyeshadow palettes. So far I am really loving the BH cosmetics: 88 cool shimmer palette! The thing with BH Cosmetics is that their eyeshadows are highly pigmented, has alot of shimmer in the shimmer palette( not an overload), and a tiny amount of fallout nothing serious. The palette comes complete with a mirror, two applicators, and 88 cool shimmer eyeshadow colors.

Pros:
  • ALL Eyeshadows are highly pigmented
  • Alot of colors to play with
  • Comes with a mirror
  • Palette itself is a nice size
  • Really good quality eyeshadows
  • Amazing blending ability
  • Comes with two applicators
  • No flaking or chalky texture.
  • Even has an expiration date on the back (which is perfect for some people who may forget when they bought their makeup and refuse to throw it out like me. HEHEHE!).
Cons:
  • Mirror is dirty and not clear.
  • HIGHLY RECOMMEND Eyeshadow primer every time you use this palette in order to get the true vibrancy of the eyeshadow color.
  • It's missing some colors like a black eyeshadow pan, but this is a cool shimmer palette.
  • Each eyeshadow pan is literally dime size in the palette( I don't mind, but may bother some).
  • The case itself picks up alot of fingerprints.

Final Verdict: I HIGHLY recommend this 88 cool shimmer palette from BH cosmetics! The only people I don't recommend this for is to anyone who doesn't like shimmer eyeshadow. If you love shimmer eyeshadow and the way it brightens your eyes then this is definitely for you! Also if your someone who is tired of your same old makeup routine and want more colors to play with without the extra cost then this palette is for you.

Look out for my BH Cosmetics 28 neutral palette review & Coastal Scents 32 lip palette review...

NYX: Pearl eyeshadow in "Gold".

Here is what it looks like closed, sorry for the glare.

Hey, y'all

I bought some new eyeshadow today and guess what its from NYX. I know, I know, I'm an addict. Today's blog will be pretty short, but straight to the point. NYX is the closest and cheapest cosmetics that u will ever get close enough that are dupes for MAC cosmetics. I bought NYX Pearl eyeshadow single in "Gold".

Review:
For starters, this color is beautiful! The finish and pigmentation is awesome! This is one of the most amazing highly pigmented, shimmer finish eyeshadow I have ever tried.

Here is a view of the eyeshadow in the packaging.

Here is a swatch of the gold eyeshadow. It REALLY is like gold in hue and glides on beautifully on the lids. However, I do warn that you use a primer like Urban Decay primer potions.

Pros:
  • Highly pigmented color
  • Travel friendly
  • Can be applied wet or dry
Cons:
  • Packaging is a little bit cheap, but decent
  • It creases easily
  • Some Fallout, but not crazy like some Urban decay eyeshadows (Yes, I went there)

Milani Baked Bronzer in "Golden".

Hey my makeup junkies,
I have another review for everyone today. Now that we are in June, and the official start of summer is around the corner. I thought I should get a really nice bronzer to kick off the summer months. So I made my way to my local drugstore and picked up a bronzer from a cosmetics company called Milani. Today I will be doing a review of the Milani Baked Bronzer in "Golden".

Here is what the "Golden" Bronzer looks like.

Here is the second compartment of the bronzer palette and the applicator brush.

Review:
For starters, I have to get what I am about to say off of my chest. This is one the cheapest packaged bronzer's I have ever used in my whole entire life! I have used Milani cosmetics before esp their eyeliner, but the packaging for this bronzer is terrible! Not to sound vain, its just the packaging alone is enough to make me not want to buy this ever again. The best part about the product is the brush that it comes with, and not even that is very useful. Secondly, the product itself is decent, but not great. Being a dark skin its a little difficult to find an inexpensive bronzer at a drugstore that will blend nicely with my complexion. All the bronzers for the Covergirl's "Queen Collection" were sold out so I had to make do with the Milani Baked Bronzer. The bronzer, does blend nicely with my complexion and gives me a nice healthy glow. The best part about this bronzer is that it can be applied wet or dry. However, their is a major downside for me, because I have sensitive skin this bronzer tends to make my skin feel a little irritated for some reason. Like some of the shimmer feels a bit harsh on my skin.

Pros:
  • Can be applied wet or dry
  • Decent pigmentation
  • No fallout
  • Can also be used as an eyeshadow
Cons:
  • Packaging is cheap
  • Makes my skin feel irritated if I apply to much
  • When applied wet with the brush it comes with it leaves some minor streaking on the skin

Here's a swatch of what it looks like. As you can see it blends in well with my complexion so the swatch is very hard to show up.

For a more accurate swatch of what the "Golden" bronzer looks like I swatched it on the inside of my forearm, which is lighter than the rest of my body.

Final Verdict: I have mixed feelings with this bronzer. Its a nice shade and goes well with my complexion however, it irritates my skin to the point I have some minor breakouts. I say buy this product at your own risk. I say try it, and if it doesn't work for you then return or exchange it. I definatly will not be buying this bronzer again, and next time will invest in a better more expensive bronzer like Urban Decay or something.

Jessie's Girl High Intensity nail polish

From Left to Right: "Blue Moon", "Crush" and "Spring Break"

Hello everyone!
I know its been a long time since I did a review, but in my absence I did buy ALOT of cosmetics that I had time to use and review. So today I am going to review Jessie's girl nail polishes. Honestly, these are one of the best drugstore nail polishes I have ever tried. I'm not sure if these nail polishes have been around for a long time considering the name is called "Jessie's Girl" which is named after I song that, I think, came out around the 80's.

Review:
I actually love these nail polishes! The color is very true to what is in the bottle will come out on the nails. I found out about these nail polishes cause I was looking for some very pretty summer polish colors and when I saw these nail polishes I KNEW I had to try at least one which was "Crush". I did and I went back and bought two more "Spring break" and "Blue moon". If your wondering about the prices DON'T cause each nail polish is like $1.99 plus tax. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this nail polish to everyone. However, I think its sold exclusively at Rite Aid. You could also check out the Jessie's Girl website.

Crush: Is a very HIGHLY pigmented orange shade that I just love. It has a nice sheen finish to it.

Blue Moon: Is a very matte nail polish color that is more of a dark blue. I recommend this more as a toe nail color or a Fall nail polish color, cause on my nails it comes off very dull and plain and just matte.

Here's the swatches of Blue moon, Crush, and Spring break

This is just an example of how it looks on my nails. Personally, I think there nail polishes will work well on any skin tone.

Pros:
  • Intense nail color
  • It dries VERY fast.
  • It's very cheap
  • Doesn't have the chemical nail polish smell.
Cons:
  • It doesn't last long
  • It's chips easily
  • Sadly, you get what you pay for...

Maybelline: Golden Halo, Copper Craze, Sun kissed Olive Swatches

Today's Blog is going to be on one of Maybelline's recent Spring 201 collection launch called "Modern Metallic". Which features some new eyeshadow single shades like "Copper Craze", "Golden Halo" and their new eyeshadow duo designs and color called "Sun kissed Olive"( Which I have a ton of bad stuff to say).

What I bought?
  • Golden Halo (Single)
  • Copper Craze (Single)
  • Sun Kissed Olive
    (Duo)
Reviews:

Golden Halo: I really love this color!!!! It's an eye popping, highly pigmented, velvety smooth Metallic Gold eyeshadow color. It's a little difficult to describe the shade of this gold as its nothing I've ever really seen in drugstore brands, but all I can say is this color speaks for itself. This color is a MUST have for spring!!
  • Pros: Last all day, highly pigmented, doesn't crease, blends well, texture is like velvet, no fallout
  • Cons: None I can think of.

Copper Craze: A color I highly recommend for blue eyed and brown eyes ladies of any skin tone. This color really works really well with "Golden Halo" if you apply "Copper Craze" in the crease. I'm not super crazy about this color, but I don't hate it either. For me it comes off kinda dull and blends into my skintone too well. When it comes to copper I'm a bit iffy cause how you apply it can either make or break your look. However, I still recommend this color and for everyone to play around with it. It think this color can also be used for a great coppery summer smokey eye look.

  • Pros: Last all day, highly pigmented, doesn't crease, blends well, texture is like velvet, no fallout.
  • Cons: None

Sun kissed Olive: Lastly, I have some things I need to say about this eyeshadow duo before I get started. Not to get political and get into economics, but I know in the U.S we are still going through a recession and everything, but Maybelline did not have to go there with there eyeshadow duos and Quads. Why in the world would you make one eyeshadow pan bigger than the other? I mean the design is cute, but I feel like I'm being ripped off a little! I have honestly never seen a design like this in my whole entire life. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm very open to that. Anyway on to the review. Besides the packaging I don't like this eyeshadow palette. The colors look great inside the package, but when swatched it doesn't come off as strong as some of the other colors. Some of Maybelline's products are a hit and miss, but this color is a miss! I had to wet the applicator in order to get come color payoff, Other than that you get more shimmer than color. This palette really is a shame and it would have been great if not for the pigmentation.

Pros: Colors are beautiful
Cons: The pans are a ripoff, the texture is a little rough, no color payoff/ NOT highly pigmented, more shimmer than color.

From Left to right: "Golden Halo", "Copper Craze", and "Sunkissed Olive.
For some reason the dark green color is showing up mocha like and the light green was not picking up at all.

Swatches of "Golden Halo" (Left) and "Copper Craze"(Right).

Maybelline has more new shades in their collection life "Sapphire Smokes". "Plum smokes", "lavender Smokes" feel free to check out more of their other new shades.

Thank you for reading my blog! : ) If you have any comments please feel free to post one!!!

Urban Decay "Summer of Love" eyeshadow palette review

Hey my makeup junkies,

What I Bought:

  • Urban Decay "Summer of Love Palette"

What it comes with?:

  • 4 Eyeshadow Colors (Flash, Maui Wowie, Chopper, and Smog)

  • A mirror

  • 24/7 Eyeliner (Bourbon)

  • Travel Size Sin Eyeshadow Primer Potion

From Left to Right: Flash, Maui Wowie, Chopper, and Smog

My Review:

"Chopper"(Coppery w/ silver microglitter): I love this eyeshadow color and I think it will look great on any eye color and complexion. However, my only qualms with this eyeshadow color is the glitter fallout. Pair this eyeshadow with a nice lig glosss and bronzer and you will have an amazing spring and summer makeup look.

"Maui Wowie" (Very light medium gold w/ silver glitter): This eyeshadow color is a little bit difficult to describe as in my opinion its a very neutral color that will look great on any skin tone and eye color. However, I would rather wear this color as an inner corner shade, eyeshadow base, or brow bown highlight. Speaking in terms of myself I don't really like "Maui Wowie" to much and don't see myself buying this color as an individual eyeshadow pot. I feel there is a technique to wearing this shade. I tried wearing this on my eyelid and then a darker color in the crease and it just wasn't for me. It does look nice against my eyecolor and skin tone, don't get me wrong, I just feel this is a color that needs to be paired and used with the right technique.

"Smog" (Deep Coppery Bronze w/ metallic shimmer): I am in love with this eyeshadow color!!! Why? Because this is an eyeshadow color can be used to create soft Summery smokey eye looks just by applying this color over the lid and "Maui wowie" in the inner corner of the eye to brighten the eyes!

"Flash"( Bright shimmery purple): This purple eyeshadow is a MUST have color for everyone!! It can be worn alone or whatever is cooking in that Urban Decay brain. It would really makes brown and green eyes pop and is great for all year round.

Swatches: From Top to bottom on my arm: Smog, Chopper, Maui Wowie, and Flash. There is the 24/7 eyeliner in the photo which I hate and gave away to a friend.

"Sin" Primer Potion (Champagne w/ metallic shimmers): As always Urban Decay's Primer potions do not diappoint! This primer dries on with some metallic shimmers. The primer potion that it comes with really does wonders! I've never tried the Urban Decay "Sin" Eyeshadow Primer Potion and let me say I am impressed! You can actually wear the "Sin" Primer potion alone or underneath eyeshadow. If u wear it alone it gives your eyes a natural shimmery look with a light sweep of eyeshadow, and if you wear it underneath eyeshadow it makes them look more shimmery. But beware, cause if you use this primer potion with a glitter eyeshadow like "Midnight Cowbody rides again" the glitter will turn into a New Years Eve night club party.

"Sin" Primer potion Swatch.

Would I recommend this palette? YESSS!!! I am in love with this palette and the individaul eyeshadow colors as this palette won't be around for long as its a clearance deal on a palette that was out last Summer.! I actually bought it because Urban Decay had it on sale for $15, and I have never tried those eyeshadow colors before. I have only been using their "Sustainable Palette" for the past year, and was also the only time I've ever tried Urban Decay before. The Palette is very travel friendly as the casing has a magnetic closing so you don't have to worry about your eyeliner falling out or it opening up in your bag.

Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner "Lucky" & "Ransom"

Hey Everyone!!!
I am finally back after my long holiday vacation and splendid New Years. I am starting off the new years with some really cool beauty products I bought from (Urban Decay). I finally got the Urban Decay 24/7 glide eyeliners in two colors "Ransom" and "Lucky"( My favorite color!).

This is the outer packaging for the eyeliners.

From Left to right: Lucky and Ransom. These colors are beautiful to look at, but don't adhere well to my eyelids.

Review:
Ok so lets get started...For starters this review may come as a shock to everyone, but this eyeliner is NOT for me. For some strange reason the color will not pick up well on my eyelids. I'm not sure if its because I have slightly oily lids sometimes, but this has NEVER happened to me before with other eyeliner pencils like NYX or other drugstore bought products. It's weird because before I bought this product I was searching online for some reviews on the urban decay eyeliners, and everyone had something good to say about it. Arrrgh! So why isn't it working for me?

From Left to Right "Ransom" & "Lucky".
"Ransom" has more of a metallic medium purple shade and "Lucky" is a very beautiful bright shade of coppery brown with specks of glitter in it. Honestly, my favorite color really is "Lucky" when I wore it today (after layering it numerous times) it really brought out my dark brown eyes.

I have swatched colors on my hands and the glide and pigmentation of the two colors were beautiful, but not on my lids. When I woke up this morning I even washed my face to make sure its not because of some makeup residue I had on my eyelids from yesterday. Then I tried to wear the eyeliner colors in "Lucky" and "Ransom" again on separate eyes and the color just will not pick up as to how it should. I waited until both colors dried on my skin then had to reapply/ layer it again in order to get the pigmentation that was promised to me. It's sad to say, but I will be RETURNING these eyeliners to get my money back!! I am super DISAPPOINTED and its makeup products like this that make me super skeptical on buying expensive cosmetics for like $17 only to realize its just not for me.

Pros:
  • The glide is non tugging and smooth
  • Waterproof
  • Smudgproof
  • Alot of colors to chose from
Cons:
  • Don't think this good for people with oily eyelids
  • This product doesn't have many cons, it just doesn't pick up well on my lids for some reason
Final Verdict: I would still recommend this product to a friend because just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for anyone else. However, I still like Urban Decay, but will probably just stick to their eyeshadows and primer potions. My next product I'm going to try for colorful eyeliners is going to be Makeup Forever at Sephora.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

Hello everyone!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful new years! I wanted to start the year off by updating my blog which I haven't made as much post as I wanted to lately. So I will be sure to get back on track this year. Secondly, every New Years most ppl make New Years resolutions, so this year I've decided to not make much.

My New Years beauty resolution is to:
  • Take better care of my skin
  • Keep my hair, and nails healthy
  • Lastly, take more risks (what I mean by this is change up my routine a bit more, meet new ppl, and have fun).
